Yeah, so I’m married now.

Monday, August 8th, 2011

Me and my Cuddley-boo tied the knot on August 2, 2011.

Here’s a run-down of what happened:

  • 09:00 – Hair and makeup appointment
  • 13:00 – Pick up flowers
  • 15:00 – Show up at Markham Civic Centre
  • 15:15 – Say all the cute fuzzy words to get married
  • 15:25 – Photos
  • 16:00 – My house for snacks/drinks
  • 17:30 – Banquet hall
  • 18:00 – Tea Ceremony (a confused one at that!)
  • 18:30 – Dinner (Me and my new hubby sat at the kids table with our friends, haha)
  • 22:30 – Run away! (to go downtown for some partying)
  • 23:00 – Drake Hotel for drinks.
  • 01:30 – Retire to the crash pad for adult-themed private celebrations. And the pulling out what felt like 5,000 pins from my hair.
  • 16:00 (The next day) – Steam bath & hot stone massage!

And here’s the photos! (Same ones I uploaded to cuddleyboo’s face book if anyone is wondering)

The new adult-themed sippy-cups!

I’ll admit, it’s not the most thrilling thing in the world to drive nearly 1,200km within the span of 48 hours, but it’s definitely do-able and not that expensive in my Freddy.

Of course, it’s all worth it when hanging out in celebration with such awesome friends as Jason and Jana as we all participated in their hand-fasting ceremony.

I got to play assistant-photographer :)

The traveling was fun, reminded me of “old times” and it was great to see lots of friends sharing a happy moment.

I dropped off my main memory card with “head photographer guy” and have no photos to share at this moment… so I leave you with my preferred vessel to carry alcohol in while partying it up in a hotel that only offers too-small plastic drink cups.  Also, it appears my limit of alcohol intake before standing becomes quite the challenge is 2.5 pots.

My cuddley boo ended up getting a sleepy girlfriend visiting yesterday evening after the drive back, before I drove home for the night.

Now to un-pack, re-pack, and fly fly away!

What my weekend looked like: November 19-21, 2010

Monday, November 22nd, 2010

Friday:
07:30 – Wake up. – Happened… probably more like 07:45
08:00 – Work. – Happened
17:45 – Gym. – Didn’t happen.
19:00 – Farmville. – Happened, but much earlier, since there was no gym-going.
21:00 – See my Cuddley-boo. – Happened.
23:00 – Sleep

We deviated from my original plan because it’s been 3 solid weeks that cuddley-boo was working and it was my plan/goal to get him absolutely smashed.  Which was quite successful.  We started drinking at home, him a friends home-made mead, then the cherry vodka/orange juice screw drivers.  Me, screwdrivers, before we headed out to Bovine to grab beers.  Unfortunately that’s where I discovered cuddley-boo doesn’t do good mixing his different alcohols (no matter what order) and was quite uncomfy by the time we got home.

Saturday:
10:00 – Sleep in – Happened
13:00 – Everything to do with Sex Show – Happened.
20:00 – Hotel party with IAMers – Happened, sort of. but later.
23:59 – Drive back + sleep – Happened, sort of. but later.

Saturday overall was a bit of a downer.  I was a bit sleepy still from the night before and I’m sure cuddley-boo was slightly hung over or still drunk or something.  We went for breakfast at Hurricanes which was exciting only because he never takes me there (thus I want to go more) and we had some good food at least.  Then to the sex show which was the same building as the print show, which caused giggles.

The sex show was really boring.  It was basically a flea market of adult vendors. Seminars & demos existed but was too impatient to sit through anything. A lot of walking in circles to end up buying stuff we would have purchased anyways, for probably the same prices at any retail store.  What was weird and out of place to me were the following booths: chair massages, teeth whitening, paint ball, car stereo systems, tattoo & piercing.  Really. There was a tattoo parlour who had a booth who was tattooing on the convention floor of a sex-themed convention.

The hotel party, unfortunately, was equally boring.  It was just me & cuddley-boo, and the couple who’d organized it.  It was good having time to get to know the other couple but I kind of had my hopes set up for one of the big hotel parties I used to be a part of, but the IAM community isn’t what it used to be, so neither are the swinger parties. *sigh*

We ended up leaving around midnight I think and hit up Velvet for more drinking but after the first beer both of us just felt out of it & wanted to go home, so we did.

Sunday:
13:00 – Everything to do with Sex Show – Didn’t happen.
17:45 – Football practice/warm up – Didn’t warm up
18:00 – Football – Grapists vs South Beach Talent Show – We tied 6-6.
19:15 – See my Cuddley-boo – Happened.
23:00 – Drive home – Happened. Right on time too.

My original plan was to buy a weekend pass for the sex show but decided against it so the Sunday edition didn’t happen. Instead we remembered it was the Toronto Santa Clause parade and went to that instead.  It started pretty much right outside Cuddley-boo’s house (all the floats were parked up & down Ossington) so we headed out about 60 minutes before the official start and walked as far East as we dared to stand outside.  Got to just before Spadina.

Cold. I was in a hoodie which was not sufficient for standing around doing nothing for hours. At least I had my mittens which I was quite thankful for since my fingertips froze off (not literally.)  Started walking back just near the end and caught up with Santa maybe a few blocks inwards. But I was happy we got to see the whole thing.  Was sad that I didn’t end up joining the Toronto Unicyclists on the Milton parade instead. Since any routes to my car out of parking were blocked off with the parade I had no way of getting there on time.

Football was fun though. We finally played with flags (still don’t have any of our own though) which makes the game a whole lot harder than the first two that were just one-hand-touch. I caught the ball once and had like 3 opposing team members try to get at my flag, and since I thought once I wasn’t on my feet I couldn’t run anymore I didn’t bother running. We ended up tying the game 6-6. So far one win, one loss, one tie. Yay us!

Then lots of cuddley while we watched 3 Amigos and ordered pizza online. Yay Hawaiian Pizza! Stefan made up a second pizza of chicken (which counted as 2 toppings) and then all the free toppings he could think of putting on there.  It was quite yummy. Then go home sleepy time.
