Colour Challenge – Yellow
So… in an attempt to meet new people, and generally for something to do other than sit at home on nice days of the weekend, I ended up locating a photography club from Flickr. Specifically, the Toronto Photography Meet Up Group (quite the name, thankfully http://tpmg.ca is easier to type!)
Anyways, found their flickr group (http://www.flickr.com/groups/tpmg/), found their website (http://tpmg.ca), and poked around on their forums. Ended up signing up some time last week (Wednesday or Thursday? It was slow at work the past week) and checked out the upcoming events.
Colour me excited. They had an event the upcoming Sunday (April 18th) and it was called a Colour Challenge, where every participant was to be handed a random colour, and base their photographs around the colour for that day. It was something I’d never done or thought of doing before, and an excuse to get outside in the sunshine for some much needed Vitamin D, I’m there!
I’m not one to shy away from showing up to an event all by my lonesome, at the same time I’m generally pretty shy the first outing out until I get comfortable with the group that I’m in. So I did the wallflower routine a lot I’m sure, and also did some wandering with other people, as well as on my own along Danforth until it was time to pick a place to sit down for a quick bite.
Anyways, here’s the collage I was able to create! The group is definitely fun and entertaining, and I’m totally looking forward to more events that I can possibly drag other photographers I know to, just for the sake of getting out and shooting!
P.S. My colour challenge colour was “Yellow”
