  • Fucking R.I.D.E. Need new exit off 404 because they’re always off 16th since its a turn and you can’t see them until it’s far too late. ZOMG #
  • I find hilarious that FB keeps changing their gift price unit of measure. It’s a dollar a “gift” no matter how you slice it! Still a ripoff! #
  • feels excessively civilized this morning… for she is eating her breakfast off a plate (paper, whatever) rather than off of a paper towel!! #
  • just told my car will be getting picked up Wednesday. 2009 Honda Fit. Obnoxious Orange. Manual Transmission. 6 days to learn to drive stick! #

Well, maybe not. But I’m nervous all the same. My Mazda3 was returned like mid-March the day after my dad flew out to spend three-ish months in Hong Kong/China, and immediately upon his return I realized just how much of a pain it is to not have my own car. And being the spoiled chinese girl that I am, I want my own car.

Tuesday night we hit up the Honda dealership (since there are no more 2009 Mazda3’s and the 2010 version looks like a big dumb emoticon, and no, I do not want to drive a big dumb emoticon) to test out the 2009 Honda Fit.

I liked it. The inside feels big and boxy while the outside doesn’t look like a toaster on wheels. The gas milage is insane for a non-hybrid car (even more so on the manual transmission) and the trunk can hold many many MANY unicycles.

Sat around for a few hours trying to hash out a price in three different languages. (Well, my parents and the salesman did) Sale was pending on some sort of insentive program, that I was approved for, so on Wednesday I was told to hit up the bank for about 20 grand in cold hard cash.

But assuming all goes according to plan, I should be picking up one of these things on Tuesday or Wednesday night.

P.S. Who wants to teach me how to drive a manual transmission?!?

Somewhere around the Kawartha Lakes

Somewhere around the Kawartha Lakes, originally uploaded by lilfunky1.

This was just really pretty. We parked where Brandon was staying (his house is being re-built) and the sun was just setting so I grabbed my gear and headed down to the lake rather than into the house. Frozen lake, and I guess the snow mobiles that have been racing each other back and forth. I just really liked the colours in this shot. You can’t get sunsets like this in Toronto.

WIN!

Well, maybe not. But I'm nervous all the same. My Mazda3 was returned like mid-March the day after my dad flew out to spend three-ish months in Hong Kong/China, and immediately upon his return I realized just how much of a pain it is to not have my own car. And being the spoiled chinese girl that I am, I want my own car.

Last night we hit up the Honda dealership (since there are no more 2009 Mazda3's and the 2010 version looks like a big dumb emoticon) to test out the 2009 Honda fit. I liked it. The inside feels big and boxy while the outside doesn't look like a toaster on wheels. The gas mileage is insane for a non-hybrid car (even more so on the manual transmission) and the trunk can hold many many MANY unicycles.

Sat around for a few hours trying to hash out a price in three different languages. (Well, my parents and the salesman did) Now the sale is pending whether or not we can fudge an incentive program, and also if I can get a bank loan to pay off the car.

But assuming all goes according to plan, I may be driving one of these things next week.

P.S. Who wants to teach me how to drive a manual transmission?!?
