Can I be pissed yet? Because I think I'm officially pissed.

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

F***ing hell. I'm pissed off and there's not a whole lot I can do about it. I'm pissed off at BMEshop, and I feel like I've been ripped off. Myself, along with a bunch of other people in the Toronto area ordered event shirts for the Dallas suscon through our honourary Canadian at the beginning of April. I'm assuming the order was placed April 6th because that's when he confirmed with us how much we each owed him for our respective shirts. April 6th, 2009.

The goal was to have the shirts shipped to his Ohio address to save on shipping fees and any customs/duties that might arise from crossing the border, and we would have our shirts at the event. Being held on April 17th, 2009.

From April 6th to April 17th is 7 business (Monday to Friday) days. (not counting Good Friday which is a Stat Holiday) Considering the States also allows shipping on Saturday, that might be considered 9 business days.

Unfortunately, when April 17th rolled around, Jason had no shirts for us who all flew down from the great white north. Because no shirts were shipped. Because seemingly extremely few shirts were printed. And of an event that had over 160 people in attendance, I saw a grand total of two shirts that were event based, when I'm pretty sure more than two people ordered them.

So my opinion? Epic fail on BMEShop's part. But since I didn't place my own order I can't really do anything about it. If it were up to me? If this were any other company I would have called in a charge-back on my credit card because my goods were not delivered in a timely manner. And as a business? That isn't acceptable.

For a company that was debating how long, between one and three business days for turnaround on standard orders (like t-shirts) was acceptable and forgivable… I am hereby proclaiming that 15 business days (22 days total AND COUNTING) is NOT acceptable, NOR forgivable.

Which sucks because it's well known & documented that I used to really like and really support BMEshop, owning a crapton of past BME shirt designs. But other than the event shirt, I haven't purchased anything from there in at least a year. And after this experience, I'll probably never purchase anything from there again.

Hmm, I guess it's true. Pissed off customers always talk trash while happy customers rarely say a thing.

Stuff at the Ex’s house

Monday, April 27th, 2009

Yet another dream from a few nights back.  I’m beginning to think that now I’m writting/blogging these dreams, they stay with me longer just so I can remember them.

Anyways, this one started with me needing to go to my ex’s house to pick up my things after he broke up with me.  (IRL I haven’t actually gone up to grab what’s mine yet, and have also made no effort in doing so.)  However, his house layout is vastly different from what it is IRL, and instead kind of resembles the house I lived in with the pool.

For some reason, I had a bunch of DVD’s that he had sold off for me, and was giving me the money for them.  There was some discussion as to how much money I was getting out of this deal, and where the money was because it was not in his posession.  His father was holding onto it for some reason.  I had to go to his dad to ask for that money, and they had spent it on nail care stuff (manicure kits etc.) for me instead so I ended up with this bag from the drugstore.

My ex also had (in my dream) rearranged his room so that his critters (a leopard geko and camellion) were extremely high up on this desk hutch.  The Leopard geko also now had a male mate.  At one point the female had climbed out of the cage but we tried to catch her by closing the trap door, and she hung from her tail, which finally gave way and she dropped to the ground (almost 6 feet by my calculations now IRL) with half her tail still stuck in the cage.

And for some reason, his sister whom I dispise was there, and was saying something to me that I don’t remember, before heading into the shower.  Turned on some radio in the shower and began horribly rapping to the song.

I do not believe these events happened in my dream in order.  But there you go!

Indie Night in Canada 2009 – Awaking State, originally uploaded by lilfunky1.

Neck vein neck vein neck vein! Seriously. Kent needs to watch out for that because, while it looks awesome on stage, I’m quite convinced popping veins like that all the time can NOT be good for your health.

Bicycles and bands

Monday, April 20th, 2009

A short dream I had a while ago, but is still memorable enough for me to write about some weeks later.

I’m hanging out with my bike people, from Bisegal (that I now do web-hosting for incedently in real life) and for some reason we’re getting into the/my car to go to a band practice.  None of us are IN the band, but we’ve all been invited so we’re going.  We drive… up the block.  I drop them off  at the doors and head out in search for street parking.  (Which I found funny when I woke up, because we could have more than easily left the car and walked!)  I parallel parked and wandered over.

We’re at this bank of rehearsal studios not unlike Cherry Beach (where I went to see SNAK in real life) except instead of doors, they all had very heavy curtains.  This either worked, or no one was playing, because the hallway leading to all these rehearsal rooms was dead quiet.

Figured out which room I was supposed to meet up with the people from Bisegal, and I end up walking into what did not look like a rehearsal studio.  Not a big empty room with only performance equipment anyways.  I walked into more of a recording studio, lots of monitors, mixing boards with nobs and a big table in the middle for no reason than to take up space, in my opinion.  All the members of the band (as I last recognized them) were there.  The band was The Dropjoys by the way.  So they’re starting to play and rehearse and record, and the Bisegal people and I were just kind of listening and taking it all in.

I guess the only thing that makes sense in all of this, is that I basically met/became a fan of The DropJoys through Bisegal.  They used to rehearse down the hall from where Bisegal is located.  One day after grabbing my bike for a ride, they were rehearsing, I really liked their music, too nervous to knock and say hi, I slipped a note under the door with my e-mail address and they wrote back.  They’re cool. :-)
