Week Three Day Three

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

I totally surprised myself today.

I fear I may have not done exactly like I Was supposed to, but this is what I was able to do.

16-21-15-15-33

Now, normally I don’t rest inbetween sets, not nearly as much as I should.  And I think I may have rested too much between the 4th set and the final max set.  But I definitely thought it was impressive I got out 33 push-ups when I started feeling the failing point.

On to week four after a great one day off!

And to anyone who’s now lost track of what I’m up to, I’m following the 6 week program of One Hundred Push Ups (http://www.hundredpushups.com/) and am just past the half way point.

BROOMFILLER

BROOMFILLER

So Thursday night BROOMFILLER rocked the International Pop Overthrow in Toronto. Show rocked. Tuesday night they announced their newest change in forever, which was turning the familiar 3 piece band into a 4 piece, played a whole lot of new songs, and were generally overall awesome.

Before the set, I was asked to grab some, many, tons, of photos of the new awesome line-up and here’s the one picture that was a total fluke, done by accident, and that I really enjoy.  The only downside is you can’t make out Dylan (the drummer) at all in the photo (he’s supposed to be the big beam of light)

But sometimes, as proven again, accidents can have positive results!

Richard has all the rest of the photos so I’ll soon see what he likes by way of what he’ll publish.

Week Three Day Two

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Alright, these sets are definitely making me struggle right now but I’m pushing through best I can.

Today consisted of:

14-19-14-14-20

The minimum to hit on the last set was 19 and I could feel myself nearing failure on the extra one I was able to push out(up?)

This is definitely a lot harder than I first thought, but I’m extremely excited about the results, considering when I look at the first week up to now.

I am hoping that my form is still just as good as it was when I started, or this whole exercise might otherwise have been useless.

Week Three Day One

Monday, November 24th, 2008

Alright.  Tonight was… painful.

For one thing the set really ramped up from last week’s set of push-ups, and for another, I think last week I was on the wrong schedule.  The first week I was in category two.  And I just assumed I would stay in category two the whole 6 weeks.

It was only this week I found out that each week is re-evaluated based on the maximum push-ups that are performed on the third day.  So after week one, I should have been on the third category in week two.

But seeing as how I was able to complete 25 pushups as my final grouping, I just barely stayed in the second category for week three.

Here was my set: 12-17-13-13-20

The first 17 was pretty hard actually, and I was really fighting to get the last 20 in.

I think the fact that I also just did 3 days of push-ups consecutively really isn’t helping the amount of burn that is in my arms and chest right now.  I definitely need to stay on schedule to make this as pain-free as possible.

Tomorrow off!

Week Two Day Three

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

Got it all in one week. What a massive week! I don’t know where all my time goes considering I seem to not really ever do or accomplish much during that time.  I feel I may have rushed my push ups as well so I don’t know if next week will be as effective.

Here’s today’s schedule.

12-13-10-10-25

I definitely surprised myself, I thought the minimum last set of 15 was crazy after so many others, but I was able to push to twenty, then see how many more I could do, and barely got the 25th one out (but I refused to stop at 24, it’s a Chinese thing)

Anyways, I’m off to purchase some more gaming console goodness and I’ll be back later to blog about that as well!
