Not so Huzzah…
Thursday, October 23rd, 2008Okay I actually would need to re-hem these pants (I thought the bottom bit was already hemmed but no dice.) But still! 2″ more of pants is super-exciting!
Okay I actually would need to re-hem these pants (I thought the bottom bit was already hemmed but no dice.) But still! 2″ more of pants is super-exciting!
I just realized that I can make at least one of my work-like pants about 2″ longer (without needing to re-hem) by taking out the hem (I don't know why I never thought to look before) so no more mis-matched sock or “show 1″ of bare leg while sitting down” worries anymore!
This will be a weekend date with the stitch-ripper!
SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW!
Bah. Just when I found a job that's only 5km away and thought maybe I should try biking to work! Oh well I have next summer to do it then!

Stupidity
What do you expect?
I will find happiness soon.
And apparently the election process that was held last Tuesday was a big disappointment and a waste of over 300 million dollars. From what I can tell, no one’s happy about what happened, and I don’t even understand it. I hear absoloutly everyone complaining about the results of the election, and my particular polling station had less than 35% of the registered voters come out to do their thing. Sure some of them voted early and aren’t counted in my numbers, but there were few of them.
So there’s another minority government, it’s still the conservative government, only now they have more seats than before.
To be honest, I don’t know what any of that means.
I thought it was kind of funny that the Conservatives had one guy who was at our polling station the whole day checking over all the voting “bingo cards” that were collected every half hour. He just sat there looking over paperwork and more paperwork, would go out and make phone calls (they weren’t allowed to use cell phones inside the polling area) and eat his meals, then come back.
Interesting enough, the Liberals ended up with four really young guys who were bouncing between different polling stations, would show up as a pack and because one of the guys was the Liberal’s leader’s son, was a bit of an ass. But it was still just interesting to see them all show up to do their thing. They each had two polling stations assigned (there was eight in our location) and would do the same thing, but leave and come back.
Other than that, it was a really long day! I enjoyed that my mom forced herself to come vote because I was working there, and she knows I take voting very seriously in that everyone should do it. I can’t believe the number of people who don’t.
Then again, I thought it was stupid the polls were open the day after Thanksgiving. I figure the majority of people who didn’t vote couldn’t have been fussed to go during the advanced polls, but were on vacation still and couldn’t get to their regular polling station!
