Long weekend just started… and now it’s over.

Thursday night was not exciting, got home and probably into bed by midnight.  Told my friend I would pick him up from the bus station at 6am since he was riding in from Ottawa.   I told him to call me at 5:30am to wake me up to give me time to get to Toronto for 6am.

  • He sent me a text message at 4am.  Told me he was half an hour away from the Toronto station.
  • Sent me a message at 4:20am.  Told me he was at the Toronto station.
  • Called me at 4:30.  Told me it was too cold at the station (that wasn’t open yet) and he was going to walk to Union station instead.
  • Probably picked him up at around 5am.
  • Drove back to my house by around 5:30am.
  • Both of us asleep in my bed by 5:45am

My mom walked into the room at 6am saying “Hey, weren’t you supposed to go pick up your friend?” And I’m pretty sure saw him sleeping in my bed with me.

Finally I woke up at probably 9-10am.  My friend woke up more around 1pm.

Drove to St.Kitts to pick up the rest of his belongings from an ill-fated move, back to my friend Brandon’s where we proceed to eat drink & be merry.

Saturday went back and picked out diggs for the party that night.  Lots partying going on, and drinking, and the whole socializing with people you don’t know, and probably don’t like business, I left around 12:30.

Got back on Sunday at maybe around noon-ish.  Made lunch, and started on the drive back to the bus station.  Turned around and came back, and basically did the half-assed haphazard cleaning for the next little bit while the birthday boy nursed his non-rested body and probably a slight-yet-not-admitted-hangover.

Work on Monday. Ughs.

Long weekends… still aren’t long enough

I enjoyed every moment of my long weekend.

From the getting my paycheque on Wednesday because the HR lady was going away Wednesday morning so we got our cheques (post-dated of course) Wednesday morning instead of Thursday afternoon.

To Thursday’s day being way too long and just needing the idea of “let’s get the hell outta dodge” the whole day, but thinking about basking in all the goodness that was getting paid and getting to deposit the not-so-phat cheque.

To Thursday night included which was supposed to be unicycle club, but ended up being hanging out too long at the bike shop doing nothing really and eating chicken souvlaki really quickly.  Oh, and leaving another note for the Drop Joys under the door of their rehearsal space.  That makes two times I’ve left notes for them.  Although someone else who was also at the bike shop said how he wanted to leave a note for them too because he really liked what he heard, and my other friend told me I should write the exact same note I wrote the first time, pretending I didn’t realize it was the same band.

Oh part two’s…

the snow is mesmerizing

WHAT ELSE HAVEN'T YOU TOLD ME?!

April Fools!

Sunday, April 1st, 2007

This year the prank I pulled was subtle and just very funny and amusing.

And I think I started planning it back in October.

Basically I announced on my BME blog that me and one of my best friends Brandon had gotten engaged.  Now a lot of people who know about Brandon don’t like him for some reason.  And I’ll admit marrying him really isn’t something I was thinking about, but most people know I have a bit of a crush on him. (I like musicians. heh.)

So it was cute.  We staged photos of us being cute and all about each other.  My direction on the photos was “Just pretend you like me” and posted it a few hours before midnight on April Fools in EST.  Since most of the world is ahead, it felt justified.

I continued to post into the day about how happy I Was, how sick I was from drinking to celebrate and generally what I was actually doing.  I finally giggled enough to post saying it was all a sham.  Although some people saw right through me the minute the post went up. :D

It was fun.  I need to think up something for next year now.
