I just wanna go home

So it was………… this past Wednesday.  I get to work with minus 2 minutes to spare (but since I’m the 7am shift we have a leeway of I believe 3 minutes before we’re considered late.  Everyone else has to be there on the nose otherwise they get stupid astriks beside their names on their time card printout) and I hit the power button on my computer.

Fix up my lunch into the fridge and come back.

And nothing’s working.

And I jiggle the power chords, I check out the mouse and the keyboard (both of which don’t seem to be plugged in) and restart the computer.  I restart the monitor, I power cycle through and I just sit there.

Finally I call the IT tech support dude who really I don’t know WHAT his role is but whatever.  He comes over and does all the same stuff I do while I sit and watch.  And think how wonderful it would be to be told to go home (since by law they would be required to pay me 3 hours since I showed up) but I knew it wouldn’t happen.

Anyways, by about 7:40am I’m finally up and running.  Darryn basically shut the power supply off, and back on (something I would never think to do anyways) and it all worked.  Who knows what happened.

Thus my dreams of a 30 minute working day were dashed. Bah Humbug.
