Sort of a work out.
So I’m not sure if I’m considered a member of the Winter Swim club I’m sure I am if I wanted to say I was, but it’s not like I go out with the group a whole lot. They tend to go during weekdays while I’m at work, or under short notice and I can’t make it down.
Anyways we were planning on participating in the Polar Bear Dip which happens every new years day. Well basically we all thought it started at 2pm and were taking our time getting up. Around 11am we got a phone call saying “Hey, you know the swim is at noon right?” We didn’t. We got there at 12:10 and everyone was pretty much out of the water, except for the few members of our club who had been in for about 10 minutes, getting yelled at every 3 or 4 saying “Are you guys alright?!”
They got out of the water as we arrived on the beach, me and Phil expressed how we still wanted to go in, and the crew volunteered to go back in if we went. So we all ran in. This was my second time swimming in Winter, and my first time where I actually swam, instead of splashing around a little. The swimming was fun, Shannon was right. Stand the first 60 seconds, and then it’s just like anything else. I definitely want to go again if they’re doing it at a time I can go.
But here’s pictures because they show just how much fun we were having.
