I do believe I dare! I just picked up my ps2 today (original/fatty version with cables, 2 original controllers, 1 memory card, 1 headset, 4 games, DVD remote) for 80 bucks and have been playing the guitar hero game I got for my birthday (20 days ago) on and off for the past 4 hours. more off than on actually. I play the same standing up and sitting down, I only recognize one song out of the entire game, and I beat the game on easy.
I'm going to flip to lefty when my fingers warm up because my guitar-playing friends are convinced I should play a guitar left handed. and if this works in video game world, I will translate it to the real world. of course I'm too lazy to restring my guitar, or find a lefty guitar, so I will just have to learn to play a right-handed guitar upside down. it's been done before. don't worry I won't hurt myself doing it.
speaking of video games, and since it's past Christmas I can b**** about this now. on Thursday my co-worker from work's ex husband's cousin who works at Wal-Mart head office was able to buy a Wii (after looking for one for a month for my co-worker who's mom ended up getting one before she could) and I had asked if she got an extra if I could have it for Phil. Well Thursday became a day of what felt like covert drug deals. I was beckoned to her desk with a hushed whisper of “you still want a Wii?” I said maybe, immediately called Phil who wasn't sure since I didn't know details (like price and when it would arrive etc) but who said yes since he didn't get one yet, and I told my co-worker yes, who was trying to organize when to pick it up (Friday night? Saturday? Sunday?? but that's after Christmas! And Phil was going away!) and it was somehow agreed upon that I would actually pick it up myself on Thursday night, so I could give it to Phil before unicycle club (and the solstice swim I missed which sucks) and do some big trade offs. well I said I'd go to her house by 5pm since I leave work at 4pm and it'd give me time to get gas, get cash and get lost. well I didn't get lost so much as I parked. for a glorious 2 hours. I was in actual fear of running out of gas as I idled on Weston road because there was some MASSIVE accident on the 400/Sheppard causing EVERYONE to be taking Weston (and surrounding streets) and there was no escape. I called Phil to complain to him for no reason other than I was frustrated that a 20 minute drive had so far taken me 90 minutes and I wasn't even halfway there, demanding the he promised Kelly would be in absolute love and admiration for this Wii otherwise I would shove it down bean's throat (I didn't say any of that, but I was definitely thinking it!) I finally got to the street I needed to be on, had to race to find a gas station, then a bank machine, then back to this woman's house to pick up the Wii who was thankfully very nice and understanding as to traffic woes. then I had to race home to pick up some stuff, then race to Phil's place to pick up his stuff and drop off the Wii (what you crazy? think I would leave a Wii shaped box in my car parked on a downtown Toronto street?!?) and was over an hour late for the unicycle party. Anyways, Phil was definitely excited about the Wii, I felt warm and fuzzy inside for doing something nice for my best friend, and apparently Shannon was in absolute awe I was able to pull off getting a Wii 3 days before Christmas.
Anyways, My Christmas has been awesome. Leftover Dim-sum for dinner, waiting for the purple hair dye in my hair to set and playing guitar-hero all night long! I hope boxing day is just as exciting!
