Sometimes I even know how to push the button on my camera

I’m starting to detest the idea of having dreams, waking up, thinking “Oh I should write this down” then thinking “But it’s so prolific there’s no way I’d forget it…” and an hour later, I’ve got no idea what my dream was. Back to having a notebook beside my bed to jot down dream points! Since once you have a few key points you remember, the whole dream comes flooding back.
Anyways! This was a dream from a few nights ago.
There was something about needing to host, or throw a gigantic party. This party needed some film, movie, or a reel of some sort to be at my place where the party was being hosted. Something like either myself, or a friend of mine accidently shipped it to Ottawa via greyhound. I was frantically calling greyhound to see if it was actually on a bus yet to Ottawa or if I could pick it back up from the depot and cancel the charge, but no one knew where the package was. I gave them a tracking number so they could more easily identify it. I was driving my car a lot, I think to and from the depot, because I was constantly struggling to find parkign spaces. Since the party was being held at my place but the reception was being held in a foodcourt in a mall somewhere, and no one was arriving since the video/movie/reel wasn’t there yet, all the food at the foodcourt was going to waste and spoiling.
Maybe this was more of a nightmare then a dream?
My friend Matt said I needed to get this shirt. Because I happen to really like blogging. I have to say, now that I think about it, I agree. I’ve said to multiple people “I’m going to blog about this!” on various occassions.
Which brought us to the conversation of the t-shirt, especally since I said it two days in a row. I can’t personally afford it, so if anyone wants to buy it for me, it’s available at www.thinkgeek.com and e-mail me so I’ll give you my size & all that jazz.
Or you know, paypal me at angela@lilfunky1.com and I’ll buy it for myself and model it for all of you’s!
*** Two and some years later in 2008 I finally bought the damn shirt.
So last night I went to see a SNAK show in Toronto. (www.snakbiz.com) While I’d known for a while these guys existed, and I’d been in the vicinity of a show before I never actually had seen them play. I’d been in the vicinity because of jemo (www.jemo.net) where they played a show together but while SNAK was on stage, jemo was working the door, so it was more interesting to me at the time to hang out with the door people. At that show, I found my like SNAK cd from 6 years ago and randomly asked the guys to sign it, which confused them, where did someone they’d never met before get a copy of a 6-year-old not-readily-available-CD to be signed? It amused me. Because of that one act of utter-silliness, I ended up getting a copy of their newer CD that night, which was awesometastic for me. Gotta love the free stuff.
A week or so ago, I messaged the band on myspace saying “Hey you! Play another show soon!” Since I was interersted in seeing them play. Seems that exact day or soon before they scheduled to play at the Smiling Buddha Bar in Toronto, so told me about it. They wrote about what the did at work, I wrote about my various unicycle competitions I had coming up. Get to the show, and everyone in the band wanted to know how my unicycling was doing, which was just WEIRD. A good weird, just never had so many people asked how my unicycling was going before.
I digress. The show was interesting. I sort of ended up at the wives/girlfriends table, where I ended up chatting with Tynur (lead singer/sometimes guitarist)’s wife. The fun & exciting part was a conversation that was similar to:
“Yes I’m married to one of the band members.”
“Oh really? Which one?”
“I’m married to Tynur”
“Aww you married the cute one!”
“Hahahahaha! Well I’ll share him with you if you want!”
“I’m so blogging about this when I get home!”
About the show. I liked it. I didn’t recognize any of the songs to be honest (most of it was new material I’d never heard before) the covers were sort of… “before my time” seeing as how they announced they’re bringing it back to 1985, with my reply going “I was three years old back then!” But I’ll say that these band members are agile, everyone’s jumping on furniture, jumping on each other, and running around the bar… with their instruments. The level of dragging peer pressure reached epic proportions during singalongs and general “get the crowd moving” attitudes. It was fun. I took pictures.
Bwahhahahaa! My friend Brandon was talking about how the company he wants to get his drumkit from, and where I want mine from as well, they like putting up the names of people who buy their kits, a website link, and what band they play in. Assuming they're in a band. Well Brandon suggested that when I get mine, I should have my name, a link to lilfunky1.com, and instead of a band name, just have the drum company put “Spoiled Chinese Girl” as the reason for me to have this amazing custom-built drumkit.
Yes well… to that I said I should start a band CALLED Spoiled Chinese Girl including me and this drumkit. Which sparked the thought of “Is www.spoiledchinesegirl.com taken?!?”
It is now
