How excited not am I (Update 6:30pm, it's fixed it's fixed!!)

Huzzah. The hosting company I'm with is down, or something similar. Because my website was working fine last night, and they all existed, and now I can't find any sembelence of myself online. This is ultimately not thrilling because I kind of need my e-mail addresses to work if I'm supposed to be on this job-hunt & stuff. Even more not exciting is I went to try and register myself for google's adsense (why not, right?) and now that my blog is down they're going to go look at a broken link.

I'm figuring since the hosting company is no longer owned by the dude I had a crush on, I really should just move hosting companies once my prepaid portion of this is up in November since the guy that runs it now I swear avoids me or something. Anyone have any suggestions as to where I should go? So far I think I've only really heard good things about DreamHost.com but I'm open to suggestions.

Even more not-thrilling is the idea of moving my websites, which means needing access to them again to download all that crap since I don't know what CD it's all backed up on. And the database my blog is on, considering I have no idea how all that worked to begin with.

Update: Great. I tried to log into the web-portal dealie and it's saying my access is denied and my account was disabled. Why does that not sound good?

Update2: Huzzah my website is back up! Currently as I update this, I'm FTPing my entire site contents back onto this computer so I'll have some sembelence of a backup. I'll organize it later. Right now I just want everything here. Now… to have someone show me how to download the database for my blog. Anyone?

4 months, 6 days. Changes aren’t staggering but they’re there!

So I went in for my follow-up fit test yesterday (Monday) I was supposed to go after 12 weeks or 3 months, but I put it off for another month and seemingly have been doing more poorly since losing my job. But anyways. Here’s the comparision results from the first date back in January, and yesterday.

I question mainly the weight, as my at-home scale gave me around the same weight as the gym scale in January, give or take a pound or two, but I weighed myself at home yesterday and today and came up with between 200-204lbs, but their scale says 212lbs, so I’m not sure what to believe. The trainer doing my test questioned my percentage of body fat, saying it was somewhat shocking at the idea of me losing 19lbs of fat and gaining 16lbs of muscle in 17 weeks, and thinks the first test may have been done inaccurately.

I’m happy with myself that I was able to do two full pushups before he told me to do them from my knees to see how far I could do them, as opposed to last time’s whole half pushup. The situps were harder this time since this guy wanted me to go more inverted where last time I could just go paralell to the floor when lowering myself. (So I’m sure I could have done more than last time if I did them the same way) But the chin-ups! Whoo to me getting a whole four where last time I got… half?

I wish I had my flexability score done as well in January because I would have loved to see a change in that, after doing the yoga classes whenever possible.

Anyways, anything after this really would be excuses or more rationalizations as to why I didn’t do as good as I wanted to. Here’s the results!

Leftover chicken is always messier in the morning.

As I'm running out the door I'll make this breif. Below you'll find the results for my fittest I did back in January, and yesterday. I think their weight is wrong because my scale says I'm around 8-10lbs lighter than theirs, but 4 months ago my scale and their scale said the same thing. The trainer dude thinks my first fat percentage is wrong because it seems a bit extreme to have lost 19lbs of fat and gained 16lbs of muscle in 17 weeks.

I'm happy I managed 2 full pushups, but then did another 14 from my knees. This trainer dude also made my situps harder, last time I went as low as being paralell to the ground, this time I was pretty inverted to sit up. Finally I wish I had my flexability tested in January to see if yoga has made as much of a difference as my mind tells me.

I'm also excited at the fact my blood pressure's dropped into an acceptable range, now if only I could get my resting heartrate to do the same. And away I go!

First day of sleeping in

Sunday, May 7th, 2006

So I only slept until 6am, as is custom when you consider that sleeping in.

Spent the last two days sleeping only until 5am, in order to get either myself, or me and my partner in crime (Philip Barbosa) to the APUG conference that’s being held at Elevator Gallery. APUG is the Analog Photographer’s User Group, basically a group of photographers who all insist on using film, and that digital ain’t that hot.

If anyone would recall, I’m not a photographer. And even if I were to consider myself a photographer, I’m definately not an analog photographer! But I was at the event. Last Sunday I had spent much of the day painting the gallery to ready it for showing. Then on Thursday I spent the afternoon registering people into the conference, and checking out the door during the gallery opening. Friday I was up early to help with the cash sales for breakfast, and lunch, and register more people who didn’t make it the night before. Saturday up early again, this time with Phil in tow, and sat doing cash for much of the day, with the highlight being needing to take one of the attendees to the hospital, she’s alright though.

The only fun and exciting parts were Friday and Saturday where I had my unicycle out, and when Phil was here, he had his out as well. Friday when I left during the round-table discussion there were two photographers insistant on taking shots. Thrilling, if only I had some sort of skill that would warrent photos. On Saturday I suggested that for next year’s conference, they should do a sport-photography workshop and invite the Toronto Unicyclists down as subjects.

Well the other fun and exciting part was getting to watch the outdoor portion of the Music Photographer seminar. I should have asked to join in, I probably would have had no problem getting into it. But since my friends in Strap-On Tools, and jemo, are both heavily promoting themselves and asked me to take pictures, it would have been exciting to see how a professional see’s band members to take promotional shots while not performing. (Part of my reluectance in joining in on the seminar was because I thought it was how to take pictures while musicians are performing) Oh well, it gave me some great ideas that I’m going to hopefully work with.

Sadly, my connection with my phone and my friend’s computer decided to unexpectedly die over the weekend as well, so I’m once again stuck with a camera phone and no way to get the pictures off. I’ll continue to try when I’m over there, this phone seems extremely tempremental. But I want these pictures off to continue my moblog!

I seriously need a job now.

… because I need to get up at a normal hour, instead of 2 hours earlier than normal! I was at Elevator at 7:30 this morning for the breakfast rush of the APUG Conference, I was told to be there at 8am, and they really wanted me there before 7am, so I came out with a good balance. Tomorrow I need to be there at 7:30am, with a photographer's assistant in tow so I need to be up even earlier.

APUG is pretty cool though. The Analog Photographer User Group? It's a bunch of film geeks who would prefer using film in photography rather than digital. It was funny that I pulled out a uni to tool around while bored, and while riding away I was getting chased down by photographers insisting on taking pictures of me staying in one spot, then hopping over thin air because I can't hop over much else successfully.

But yes. I need a job so I don't have to volunteer for this kinda work anymore!
