Automatic Windshield Wipers Killed the Squeegie Kid

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

IEunuch told me to update more.

Anyways. Yesterday was one of the most amusing encounters at a red light I'd ever had. This punked out squeegie kid with a pink mohawk comes up to my car at a red light on Queen St. He poured some water onto my windshield to start squeeging off, and before he could, my automatic wipers kicked in and splashed the water back all over him. Sadly I had no change to give him because I really thought he deserved it after putting up with that, considering neither me nor the driver of my car actually did that on purpose. He said that the automatic wipers were going to be the death of him.

Tonight I'm going to be at some pub-like place called the Smiling Buddha (961 College Street. College just East of Dufferin) to watch my friends band jemo play. If you feel like hanging out with me because I'm just so cool, come by. I'll probably be there around 9:30ish and they're set to go on for 9:45. Of course these are musicians so expect them to go on between 9:40 and 10:00.

Completing the Holy Trinity of 2-4's

Saturday, May 20th, 2006

Alright, since something like 80 people have visited my page in the past like 36 hours I feel it is necessary for an update, if only just so people don't have to read about my incompetence about my own blog as a first entry anymore.

So I got my first EI cheque last week, and because of the payout I got from my job for vacation and severence getting deducted from my first week on EI, I received exactly twenty-four dollars. And considering this is the May 2-4 weekend (First long weekend of Summer, generally the start of summer) it was decided by me that in order to complete the holy trinity, I needed to take the first twenty four dollars I made by not working, and buy a 2-4 with it. Brandon completely agreed. Until he found out I planned on drinking the entire 2-4 by myself and wasn't going to share.

In other news… there isn't any other news really. I went to the gyme today, and will probably go again tomorrow for yoga, and again Monday because I'm just that bored. Yes I realize there's 18 beers in the backseat of my car right now. But drinking is boring when done alone. It's generally boring when done in a group-setting as well. Why did I buy an entire 2-4 again?

We’re Back!

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

When I say “We” I really mean “ME” since I’m the only one who ever writes in this thing.  Anyways.

Last week I came to the shock that the server my website was being hosted on was being decomissioned, and the guy who was doing such actions “didn’t have a way of contacting everyone” so instead he disabled everyone’s accounts, getting us all to e-mail him going “WTF?!” so he could inform us he was getting rid of it.  Anyways, seeing as I was only ON the server because my friend used to be a part-owner in the webhosting company I was with I’m hoping the refund business will be handled.

Anyways.  I’m now with Dreamhost, as per many people’s suggestion.  Because of that I have a new URL for my music fansite jemo unofficial (http://jemounofficial.com) since they offer one free URL with signup.  I’m hoping that I got my change in on time for sticker production since I had designed a sticker with the old URL only a few days before and sent it in.  So I will have by mid June, stickers of the unofficial sort for both jemo (promoting both jemo unofficial and jemo.net) and Strap-On Tools (promoting both strapontools.org andlilfunky1.com)

And since everyone else is doing it, I decided to jump on the Google Adsense bandwagon.  Truthfully I don’t know if I’ll EVER make money on it (well, receive money from it) but hell, why not, right?  Nothing else I’ve ever done through the internet has paid out in a big way.  And actually I kind of like it, because it makes my site look more professional.  To be a corporate sellout. *Shrug*

But I’m going to send in a bunch of entries now that are backdated, mostly moblog stuff.  I’m hoping I can get it working more to how I want it too.  Here’s hoping!

WHO KNOWS WORDPRESS?!??

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

Alright here's my deal. I used the WordPress one-click install with Dreamhost (which installed I think version 2.02 onto my webhost) and then uploaded my old database from my old hosting place. Which in theory should move everything over to the new blog dealie, as many of the help forums have said it should.

But as you can plainly see if you visit lilfunky1.com/blog, it's not working. And I don't know how to fix it.

Help??

Update: I fixed it! Silly databases!

F***ing Briliant.

Well anyways. I found out that all is not well in the web-hosting world. The guy who owns the server has decided to shut down said server on May 20th. And because for some reason he has “no way of contacting everyone” he decided to disable everyone's accounts, my theory is so they would message him to say “What the f***!?” Now my delema is he took over the hosting company back in October or November. So I paid for a year's worth of web-hosting around that time. Meaning I am still owed 6 months worth of hosting from this dude. Meaning I'm f***ing likely to be pissing in someone's ear about getting credit somehow. As much as we all hate PayPal I'm figuring that may be my best course of action since this dude never replies to e-mails really ANYWAYS.

But I've pretty much figured out what I want as my hosting company, even though I'm tempted to buy my own server because that would sound f***ing awsome to have, I don't think it's really a necessity especally for the site(s) I run.

In the meantime I'm also looking into getting a button-maker. Does anyone out there HAVE a button maker (personally looking for one that would make 1″ buttons) and have suggestions, or want to sell off one they thought they would use and don't?

Finally, the f***ing hilarious point of my day is the fact that I'm going to work tomorrow. For the company that fired me. Because they don't know how to spam people. I'm going to go in, just to e-mail people, and leave. And I'm going to drag it out for as long as I can since it's going to be done hourly and hell, it takes a long time to spam people! Especally with how I do it. haha. Awsome.
