Something a little different.

Last Thursday myself, and two of my friends went to FAC Toronto to check out their Systema class. Their normal class starts at around 8pm, so that’s when we were supposed to go and audit the class. Unknowingly, and because we’re such lucky bastards, we walked in an hour late to a 3 hour special seminar. So instead of auditing the class, we jumped right in.

Systema is fun. It’s practical, it’s exciting, and it’s completely improv. There’s no right or wrong, just go with your gut feeling, and what comes naturally. The people are super friendly and overall it was a great experience. We were extremely lucky to have that as our introduction. Next week we’ll be going back for their regular class. I’m not sure about them but I may transfer to the school in Thornhill rather than stay in the Toronto one, just because it’s closer and has a more flexable schedule.

In other news, I’m still going to the gym at least 3 times a week, two of those for yoga. Being that I am currently unemployed, I should be going more but there’s something about sitting at home not doing anything that’s inviting, and a very dangerous cycle to get into. I should change that.

Hopefully Systema is what will help me change for the better.
